DESIGNER: Unknown MATERIAL: Maple, Purpleheart CLASSIFICATION: Assembly SIZE: 3" (7.62cm) COMMENTS: This design is difficult to find...thanks to Tom Lensch for sharing the design details with me. Sources say that the late Mr. Wolfgang Schneider invented this packing puzzle in the early 90's. The 21 pieces pack into the box with an extremely tricky and non-intuitive solution. I cannot stress enough that this is a very very difficult puzzle, requiring not only patience but also unconventional thinking to solve. Mr. van der Poel has informed me that he purchased this puzzle from Mr. Schneider and that it was not in fact invented by Mr. Schneider, but rather brought to market by him. As it turns out, the actual designer is unknown. Construction of this puzzle is outstanding. The box uses full joinery and the pieces precise and individually beveled all the way around. Fit is excellent, with room for humidity expansion. 50 copies made for sale, each signed and dated. This puzzle is shipped disassembled. This item is sold out and no longer available.
