The designer describes his inspiration by the following: ““The Tower puzzle was designed about one and a half year ago. I had just started designing burr puzzles and had come across Ice Pillar from Osanori Yamamoto. I wanted to add another dimension to it and not just make another copy of his idea. The vertical piece I added required to make the pieces three units wide, so I decided for 3×3. Hopefully 29 moves to get the first piece out is challenging enough, but not impossible.
