Felix Ure

Felix Ure is a British product designer and maker who creates high-end machined-metal puzzles from his studio in Wimbledon, South London. He holds a degree in product design and spent around five years as lead designer at a high-end door-hardware company, an experience that gave him a taste for heavy, over-engineered, precisely made objects. Inspired in part by watching puzzle-solving videos, he launched his own puzzle line in 2019.

Ure works primarily in brass and aluminium, with every puzzle CNC-machined, then individually hand-finished and quality-checked by him before it leaves the studio. He releases roughly one new design a year, describing the act of designing the puzzle as the real puzzle for him; concepts are developed over months, sketched, modelled in CAD, prototyped and tested before a limited production run.

His debut, the Titan, was widely praised as one of the hardest puzzles available and established his reputation among collectors. His pieces are now stocked by specialist puzzle retailers across Europe and North America, and he also makes precision spinning tops alongside the puzzles.
